According to THR, Dan Mazeau and David Leslie Johnson have been hired by Warner Bros. to write a third Clash of the Titans movie even though the second film is still in post-production and not set to hit theaters until March of next year. If the names sound familiar, it's because both Johnson and Mazeau worked on the Wrath of the Titans script as well, with Steven Knight and Greg Berlanti (who, ironically, was one of the writers in the middle of the aforementioned Green Lantern 2 business). While not too many details are known at this point - for obvious reasons - the new script will continue to follow Perseus, who is played by Sam Worthington, and will reportedly have a bigger role for Agenor, the new character played by Tony Kebbell. Should the project move forward, it's expected that Wrath of the Titans director Jonathan Liebesman would stick around for another installment, as would producers Basil Iwanyk and Polly Johnsen.
What's kind of interesting about this development is that Johnson and Mazeau weren't writing partners prior to working on the Clash of the Titans franchise. In fact, Clash of the Titans 2 will be Mazeau's first writing credit while Johnson previous wrote the scripts for the horror movie Orphan and Catherine Hardwicke's Red Riding Hood. I guess Warner Bros. has confidence that they can work together (or do they?)
