According to Deadline, Adam Rodriguez, best known for his role on CSI: Miami, has joined the ranks of Magic Mike as yet another male stripper. Based on Channing Tatum's experiences as a male dancer prior to becoming an actor, the story revolves around a veteran performer who takes a rookie (Alex Pettyfer) under his wing. The rest of the cast includes Matthew McConaughey (who plays the owner of the dance club) and Matt Bomer (who plays another stripper). Production on the film is scheduled to begin this fall in Tampa, Florida.
But Magic Mike isn't the only film Rodriguez has lined up. Deadline also reports that the actor has also landed a part in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, which has already been in production for months now. The site doesn't say who the actor will be playing in the film, though it does specify that it's a "small role."
Rodriguez doesn't have the most impressive filmmography in Hollywood (the most notable director he's worked with before now is Tyler Perry), but in just one day he's landed parts in Steven Soderbergh and Christopher Nolan projects. Not a bad 24 hours.
