Reporting out of Toronto, Variety says that Olivia Wilde has been cast as the female lead in The Longest Week. Based on a script by Peter Glanz, who will also be making his directorial debut with the project, the project is about a man named Conrad Valmont who has spent his entire life mooching off of his parents, using all of their resources and living in their hotel. Over the course of a week, however, Valmont's life falls apart completely. The movie is a feature adaptation of Glanz's short film A Relationship in Four Days, which was screened at both the Sundance Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival in 2008. Check out the trailer for the short below:
The short's official plot synopsis mentions that it's a girl named Sabine who manages to turn the lead character's life around, and I think it's pretty clear that will be the role Wilde will be taking. The article doesn't mention who may end up playing the lead role - and considering it's an indie it could be someone we've never heard of - but it could be a fun part for any actor.
